The Jon Siemen Memorial Scholarship was created to celebrate the life, memory, and contributions of Jon Siemen, BPI’s Technical Relations Representative, who left an indelible mark on the home performance industry before his passing in March 2015.

This scholarship goes beyond financial support as it carries forward Jon’s passion for building science and energy efficiency. Each year, BPI awards it to four deserving individuals, empowering them to grow their careers in home performance.

Who Should Apply?

If you work in the weatherization assistance program or are a veteran, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Additionally, this is ideal for:

• Aspiring home performance professionals looking to advance their career
• Individuals who share Jon’s dedication to improving energy efficiency and building science
• Those with a passion for making a difference in their communities

The Larry Zarker Healthy Homes Scholarship is intended to help individuals who want to make a difference in the comfort, health, and safety of our homes.  

What the Scholarship Covers:

Who Should Apply?

Applicants must meet one of the elgibility areas below:

• Students attending college/trade school with a relevant major/program (e.g., environmental health, building sciences, construction, social work, health care) 
• Work in the health/community service fields 
• Staff at BPI GoldStar Contractor organizations 
• Individuals who live in a community identified as disadvantaged, based on the Justice40 mapping tool

Individuals can only receive this scholarship once. If you previously received the Larry Zarker Healthy Homes Scholarship, you are not eligible to receive the scholarship again.
